Fish -A-Thon

On Saturday, I went to a Fish-a-Thon that was sponsored by the Lions Club at Stevens Creek Quarry. This is my very first fishing experience, and I got three trout!

John is an experienced fisherman who helped me to put bait on the fishing rod. And he cast it in the pond.

We waited for a while, but nothing happened. John checked and found that the fish had eaten the bait. Then he put the bait on the hook and cast it again.

When John felt the fish was hooked, he told me to reel it in. I reeled it fast and pulled the rod back.  John used the fishing net to catch the fish.

We were so happy. We cheered with high five. He praised me, “Good job!” Later on, I got another two trout.

All my friends Sammy, Jack, Amanda, and Vivian came to the fishing event. They also caught the fish.

Then, the volunteers helped to clean my fish. Meanwhile, I had a hotdog, chips, cookies, and popcorn for lunch.

In the end, I went home with our cleaned fish. I was grateful for the Lions Club.

After I got home, my mom steamed the trout with ginger and scallion. The trout was super delicious.
