A Hiking Trip to Half Moon Bay

Image
On Sunday, my family went to Half Moon Bay to hike around the trail on the cliff.  It was a sunny day before the storm. We hiked on the trail. One side of the trail is the ocean, and another has a view of a farm. The ocean was vast, with fog far away; the view was magnificent. As I crossed the steel bridge, I looked down and saw the water flowing through the small gorge.   The farm has a very modern-looking gate, the shape of a whale. I saw some Brussels Sprouts and artichokes planted on the farm. The green farm was very relaxing and serene. The sun reflected off the ocean in bright sparkles of light. Nature was so beautiful and peaceful. I wanted to dance.

Christmas Party

Image
Our girl scouts T2468 had a Christmas party at the clubhouse. The clubhouse was decorated with light and the inflatable Santa.   It was a potluck party. Each family brought two or more dishes, so we had abundant food.   We had games, movies, and karaoke. I liked the white elephant game, a gift exchange game. First, everyone must bring a gift for the white elephant game and put it under the Christmas tree.  Second, we picked the number. Last, when your number is called, you can choose a new gift under the Christmas tree and show it to everybody or steal it from others. A gift can only be stolen three times. I was number ten. There was a popular gift that was stolen two times. I wanted it too.   When number ten was called, everyone yelled, “Steal! Steal! Steal!” I went to steal it directly, and everyone cheered. I got an Amazon gift card and a stuffed polar bear. It’s final. Nobody could steal it anymore. I enjoyed the Christmas party with my girl scout group.

The Number One Baked Potato

Image
I prepared my favorite baked potato with Argentina's wild red shrimp to celebrate Argentina winning the World Cup.   First, I washed the potatoes and dried them. Then, I pierced the potato skin. Next, I put the potatoes in the sandwich bag. I put the olive oil in the bag, coated the potatoes, and sprinkled them with salt. I put the potatoes in the oven until golden brown. Meanwhile, I prepared the fillings with avocados, shrimp, and salsa.   After the potatoes were taken out of the oven, I cut the potatoes in the center lightly. I put the sour cream inside the potatoes and added the fillings. The potatoes were warm and fresh with fancy homemade fillings. It’s number one!

One-pot Creamy Lemon-Dill Chicken Soup

Image
This soup is very creamy and delicious.   I poached the chicken in saltwater. I chopped carrots, celery, garlic, and scallions.  I zested the lemon and quartered it. I cooked the vegetables in a pot. Then I stirred in water, couscous, and stock concentrates.                                   I   shredded the chicken into pieces and put it in the soup. I stirred in scallion greens, creme fraiche, lemon zest, and juice from half the lemon. And I seasoned it with salt and pepper. I divide the soup between bowls. I garnish it with dill on the soup. Serve and enjoy.

Easy Apple Crumble

Image
The apple crumble is my favorite dessert. It’s better to enjoy it in the cold seasons. It’s straightforward to make. First,   I peeled and cored the apples; and thinly sliced them. Next, I combined the flour, rolled oats, and brown sugar. I mixed all the dry ingredients.   Then, I put the apple slices on the bottom of the baking dish. And I made the crumble topping using all the dry ingredients.   Finally, I baked them in the oven for 45 minutes. The apple crumble is fresh out of the oven and a delicious treat. You can enjoy it at home or bring it to a potluck party.
