Trip to Yosemite National Park

Last Monday and Tuesday, my family went to Yosemite National Park for vacation. We saw many waterfalls, but they didn’t have much water.  When the wind blew, the water of the Bridalveil Fall swayed like the veil.





We hiked the Mist Trail. There are many trees and rocks along the river. It was a hot day, and the trail was very steep, so we took breaks and drank a lot of water. After one and a half hours, we walked on a bridge and saw the Vernal Fall. Because we were tired, we went back to the emerald river to cool down. 






Then my dad drove up the mountain. The weather was very windy on the hill. We saw the Half Dome. It’s so beautiful! I took many photos of it.





 

Finally, we arrived at Tenaya Lake. The lake was surrounded by mountains with very clear water. It’s blue and green, so gorgeous! I waded into the water.  I played with the rocks and threw the stone in the water. 





I had a fun summer trip to Yosemite National Park.

    Wow, I don't think I've been to Tenaya Lake before. Thanks for sharing the pictures! The water looks so clear and it looks like it's a wonderful place to cool off from the summer heat. I'll definitely make it a destination next time we go to Yosemite!

Volunteering at the Shinzen Japanese Garden

 I enjoy the volunteer activities provided by the Wayfinders. My favorite is the Shinzen Japanese Garden.  I have been there with my family before.  It's beautiful and peaceful. The pond, bridge, maple trees, and Japanese lamppost give me a Zen feel. I like nature so much that   I  enjoy volunteering in this garden.   On Saturday, I volunteered at the Japanese garden again. I helped them rake up the leaves and pull the weeds. The garden looks very clean and organized. For lunch, I had veggie and cheese pizza and drank water with it. I enjoyed   my lunch with my friends.  While cleaning the garden, I saw a peacock walking on the wooden fence and t he koi fish swimming happily in the pond. What a rewarding day!

Chicken Wings Feast

 Last week, I cooked the chicken wings in the air fryer.  My dad always makes chicken wings at home. I bought the chicken wings at the store. It is not expensive. For dinner, I seasoned the chicken wings with salt and pepper. Then I put them in the air fryer. The chicken wings were very juicy and crunchy. It tasted like home. I enjoyed my delicious feast, and  I ate apples for dessert. I had a wonderful chicken wings feast.

Chinese New Year Party

On Saturday, I joined my friend Grace's Chinese New Year party. We were celebrating the Year of the Snake. Grace's mom bought Panda Express food for us. I ate orange chicken with fried rice and beef, and I  also ate chow mein. I drank root beer and apple cider. For dessert, we had a delicious chocolate cake.  As a guest, I brought a bag of coconut rice cookies and a bag of sesame cookies.  They are unique for the Chinese New Year. We played  Mario Cart on Nintendo Switch. We played all the games. We watched the lion dance on TV. We laughed together, and we had a good  Chinese New Year Party. I got a lot of red envelopes. I enjoyed the food.  I had a blast at the party.   Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!
