Hanging Out with Aarushi

Image
On Sunday, I hung out with my friend  Aarushi who had just returned from India. We went to Central Park in Fremont.   First, I showed her the Age Well Center because I work there as a volunteer.  I work in the kitchen to serve lunch.   Then we walked to the playground.  We played slide and swing.  After we played, we ate a Twix chocolate bar and a granola bar for a snack. We chatted a lot.  It was a very sunny and breezy day. There were many people in the park. Some people had a party. Some people relaxed on the grass.  I saw a person running on the paved road. The park had good vibration! I feel good hanging out with my friend Aarushi!

A Tour Around the AHS

Image
My friend Selina will transfer to American High School (AHS), the best high school in Fremont, where I just graduated. Yesterday Selina came to my home, and we went to AHS together.  I gave her a tour around the school and let her know about her classroom.    My school is like a big stadium, having a rotunda with many wings. There are many doors and pathways around the building.  The school is still closed, but we met the campus supervisor lady. We talked to her. I introduced my name to her and my friend’s name to her. The lady was amiable and kind to us. She opened the door and let us get into the building. I led Selina to her classroom 703 and walked around the rotunda. My school has great and kind teachers.  I explained the teachers to Selina. I explained that the school has PE,  dance, art, drama, swimming, and other activities.  I hope Selina has a pleasant journey at AHS.

Shopping at Valley Fair Mall

Image
Yesterday my friend Selina and I went to Valley Fair Mall with our moms. First, we went to Din Tai Fung, a Taiwanese restaurant.  We ordered two signature Xiao Long Bao, beef noodle soup, and vegetable dishes. The Xiao Long Bao was tiny but with many bun pleats and tender and juicy. Next, we shopped at Macy’s store. There was many beautiful fashion jewelry. I bought a three-string necklace with a small diamond, a black heart, and a hamsa hand, a protective symbol. I put it on my neck immediately. Then, I went to the Bath & Body Works store with Selina. We tried many different scented foam soaps. We smelled some perfumes.  I liked the fruity scent. I didn’t buy anything because I would wait for a good deal later.   At Lucky Tea Shop, I bought a fruit tea with rainbow jelly, less sugar, and less ice. My mom ordered an iced coffee at Peet’s Cafe.  Selina and her mom also bought their drinks. We sat down and took a break.  As we continued shopping around, we found a flower wall. The fl

Fremont Festival of the Arts

Image
Today my mom and I went to the Fremont Festival of the Arts to shop around. I saw a vendor selling real butterfly arts in the clear glass picture frame. Another vendor was selling tiny sea shrimp in a glass vase. They are unique and beautiful. I found a vendor selling beautiful handmade soap bars with different scents. After I smelled some samples, I bought one with a giraffe print on the soap and rain scented. I spied a vendor spray painting natural scenery.  I asked him, “How much?” He said, “30 dollars.” Another vendor was selling cute animals, garden decor, and pictures. Many vendors were selling beautiful jewelry. I bought a cute turtle ring with opal, and it shone iridescent color in the sun. I played the beanbag game and baseball game, threw them inside the hole, and won an insulated grocery bag. I was tired so I would play a different game next time. I had a festive shopping with my mom.

Hiking With My Friend Lynette

Image
Yesterday my friend Lynette and her mom took me from my home to Dry Creek Park to walk her dog, Coco. We started to hike up the hills. It was sunny, calm, and breezy. This park is dog friendly, so we unleashed Coco. When we passed a pond, Coco ran into the water to play. Then we called her to come back on the trail.  We hiked to a short and narrow bridge and took a picture there. We took a break in the cool shade and drank our water. We saw wild turkeys walking around the creek, and Coco chased the wild turkeys.   We found a big tree. Part of the tree trunk was decorated and looked like a sea otter with red eyes and wearing a multicolored necklace. The otter was very funny, and we both laughed.  Then Coco found a stick to play fetch with Lynette's mom. She also chased the deer. I heard the peacocks calling to each other nearby. Nature was beautiful with animals.  I had a joyful walk with Lynette and Coco.

Fun Activities at Swim Camp

Image
This week I continued swimming with different coaches. First, Coach Angelina taught me to swim backstroke.    Then I swim the freestyle and breaststroke.   Coach Lily took me to the Lazy River to play around. I relaxed in the tube and watched kids screaming from the water slide. I asked if I could go there. Today was my last day of swim camp. Coach Aria took me to the giant water slide, and I played the slide with her. We used a yellow inflatable tube which can sit two people. I sat in the back, and Aria sat in the front to protect me. We went down the downslide. It was speedy, but I was not scared. I screamed down because I was stoked. What fun at the water park on a scorching day!

Hiking Around Coyote Hills

Image
Yesterday my mom and I went for a hike around the Coyote Hills. It was cool and breezy. The sky was blue, and the white clouds floated like feathers. As we entered the park, I saw many yellow wildflowers and dry grass. The herons were swimming in the pond, which had little water due to drought.  Some flowers with yellow tips on the bank were dead but still pretty. We climbed up the hill. The trail is narrow but not very steep.  There are not many trees in the hills, so we needed to walk to find one and drink our water under Its shade for a while.  After we rested, we finally got to the top of the hill. I saw the bay. The view was breathtaking.      I saw many sheep eating grass and “baa” happily with each other.   We take a rest on the bench. I see many words engraved on the picnic table.  I heard flies buzzing around crazily.  I played with a fly.   After the hiking, we went to a  Chinese restaurant to eat lunch there.  I ordered sweet and sour chicken with rice. My mom ordered spicy
